I can not find this product because I am not sure of how to spell it.....nor have I ever found it....but it is sounds like deca-posh....or deck-a-posh. It is a thick poly urethane or something like that. Anybody heard of it or know how to spell it or where to buy it?

Decoupage.

It's a bit like a glue. If you go to a craft store, they usually have it in with glue. There's one in particular I'm thinking of that is called Modge Podge; I think it costs about $3 for about 12 ounces.

It's spelled "decoupage." Try looking for Modge-Podge or gesso in craft stores. Any craft store worker worth their salt knows what Modge-Podge is and will be able to point you in the right direction. I'm not sure what's near you but you could try Michael's, AC Moore or Hobby Lobby to start.

You are talking about decoupage, a great craft technique. http://www.plaidonline.com/apMP.asp is a site by the maker of a popular brand of that thick glue, Modge Podge.
