How many Presidents have there been in the US that did not declare war a "police action" or somthing that involved someone somewhere getting bombed or similar ....

If you say to an American "Maybe your foriegn policy alienates the world against you " They get mad they don't see it they refuse and most of all they blame the victim or someone else

So I am curious how many Presidents have come and gone in the US that did not use the military somewhere to do somthing in someone else's nation ? Who are they what are there names

I am sure it will be a long list - So please keep it to the 20th century

William Henry Harrison is probably the only one.

Edit:

Your list isn't real accurate. Canada has had troops involved in many UN backed actions in the last few decades. France obviously has been in many wars besides WWI and WWII, most notably Viet Nam (they started the damned thing) and Algeria. Spain, Italy, and Norway were all in both Afghanistan and Iraq. Including Germany on this list is just ridiculous. Who started both World Wars? Finland has fought with Russia several times. You might have something with Holland and Ireland, but I bet if you dig deep enough, they were involved in something during the 20th century.

Edit again:

William Taft had difficulties in Central America and sent the navy against Nicaraugua. It would seem that the list of 6 is at least suspect, if not just a complete guess.

I don't think that happened during the Carter Administration.
It didn't happen during the Ford Administration, granted he was not in office that long.

But there is a big difference between sending troops on a peace keeping mission than starting a war that never should have been started in the first place. Lying to the American Public about WMDs is not very good either.

So George Bush gets my vote for worst person ever.

Willian Taft, Warren Harding, Calvin Coolidge, Herbert Hoover, Gerald Ford, and Jimmy Carter

I doubt there's a single 20th century president who could claim that. Even Harding and Coolidge without a doubt sent troops to intervene in Caribean/Latin-American affairs. But they'd be the two best candidates, along with Hoover. No one after Hoover has a shot. McKinley had the Spanish American War and the Phillipines insurrection that lasted through T. Roosevelt and into Taft's Presidency. Wilson had WWI and the expedition to Mexico, and he attacked Vera Cruz. So I really doubt there is a single one after 1900 who could claim that.

the rule is this:
if the usa is involved in some kind of conflict, we leave troops behind.

at this point, we have troops in about 60 nations, including:
england, germany, italy, korea, the phillipines, japan and on and on.

when we 'lost' the vietnam war, all it really meant was that our troops had to come home when it was over.

In the 20th Century, it's zero. There have been troops somewhere in every year in the 20th century.

Not sure if that's your question, though.

[added] Gerald Ford sent troops to take back the Mayaguez, a ship seized by Trujillo (I think it was) in Panama.

Carter with the exception of the rescue attempt on the hostages in Iran. You seem to think that we sit around and say "gee, where can we point our power and aggression at today". The white house is always full of people wanting our help whether it be money, military aid or both.
