Definately not. I have worked in IT for 20+ years. I am a Security Specialist now and have been so for the last 5 years.
I am also an elections judge and work with the E-Slate sytem.
Did you know you can take the machines home the night before and election?
Did you know that during Early Voting the machines might be out of the control of the county for days at a time?
I spent several months last year doing a detailed research article for a local paper and I discovered some very interesting things. Now the article is very long and I have added some follow ups to it.

Time and again it has been proven that the old-fashioned optical scanners give a more accurate result and are less prone to tampering than the computerized machines, but then there's not enough money for the Republican campaign contributors that way.
Here's a good question: why is it that McDonald's has a worldwide system that can tell them to the penny precisely how much money they made in the last hour or precisely how many hamburgers they sold at a certain store on a certain street but we can't get accurate voting machines? Maybe we should bring in someone from McDonald's to computerize our voting...or better yet, someone from the Nevada gaming industry. You can bet THEY never lose a penny!

Not every state has the same ballot system. There are some states who are far behind in updating their ballot system. I would not even depend on a computerized method because they also have errors. Example: some tests are graded in college by a computer method and have been found to be in error.
I just asked your main question, and the one about computers.. The others I consider your thoughts.

I have faith in our ballot system, What happened in Florida in 2000, was a direct result of of election officials trying to change the rules after the election. The U.S. Supreme Court stopped that. I am not a fan of computerized ballot systems, for a couple of reasons. The first being what you pointed out, the possibility of altering a ballot after it was cast. My second reason is my biggest concern, and that is the fact that a ballot can be traced back to an individual voter. That opens the door for the possibility that a vote can be politically used against a voter.

No, I hate the electoral college, I believe it should be abolished. I would prefer that the one with the popular vote wins. As was true with President Bush in Both Elections, but, that doesn't matter. It's all about the electoral college! You know that Clinton did not win the popular vote nor did Lincoln.

No, i do no longer believe in our electoral gadget. regardless of the reality that an electoral gadget and an digital gadget are easily no longer the comparable ingredient. and that i don't have a lot faith in the two. A president could be appointed in preserving with a populous vote no longer by way of electoral faculties. As for the digital vote casting gadget, it would prefer to look state-of-the-paintings and state-of-the-paintings, yet in modern circumstances it kind of feels that any pc utility might appropriate be corrupted, altered, abused, what have you ever.

Those electronic ballots are a waste. I'm about to give up on voting altogether because I have ZERO faith in our balloting system. Maybe we should be asking some third world countries to monitor OUR elections...

If you're going to talk about the fiasco of how Bush got in the first time, then the question is not about the ballot system. My faith has been lost in terms of respecting the Surpeme Court.
Make that the Supreme Dictators.

No i have no faith in the ballet system. The news for the last 2 elections were predicting the states that would decide the election weeks before it began. How did they know Florida - Ohio? Hanging chads? Court system put in place by daddy? - Rigged diebold election machines. Republican corruption. Enough evidence for me.

Not since the 2000 Presidential Election, when it was announced that Florida went to Al Gore, and then it suddenly went to George Bush.
It was not surprising that Jeb Bush was Governor at the time, when this change occurred.
They stole the election. And the U.S. has been on the decline ever since.
