My cousin is pregnant with identical twins, she was told that they share the same placenta. Would this be considered a HIGH RISK pregnancy?

I do understand that all multiple pregancies are considered high risk, but is it unusual for a identical twins to share the same placenta?

i think if they are identical, meaning 1 egg split to form 2 babies. they are in the same sack and have the same placenta with 2 umbilical cords. thats the was i always understood it.

Identical twins are in the same sack as for fraternal they are in different sacs. I am an identical twin and we ended up being 1 girl and 1 boy this is very rare but it does happen.

any pregnancy has risks...and the more babies the mor the risk is...but not always
