I want to be in a band, but I like (pop-)punk and metal but I can't choose which music genre it should be, and if I picked both it would sound weird, can someone please help me?

Yay you said pop-punk and not just punk, it really anooys me when people refer to pop-punk as punk.
Anyway...You should pick a genre you feel really suits you and there is nothing wrong with combining genres, that is how awesome bands are forged.

Dude do your own thing don't get caught up in trying to pigeon hole your music--new ground is broken when bands don't try to appeal to the masses--they play what they love.
