i've given up, i try to let my son pick, cuz whenever I pick somebody needs a price check, or some old lady is writing a check and doesn't have her I.D. out or somebody needs stamps,.....UGH :)

Always! The line moves real fast until I put my stuff on the belt then the person ahead pulls out the bag of pennies she's been saving, can't remember her PIN number, has suddenly realized she wants price checks on everything, decides she doesn't like the look of that milk carton and asks for a different one. Yeah, I've been behind the same people as you!

Every single solitary time. I've resigned myself to being on any check out line longer than *any*one else in the store. At the supermarket I pick up a tabloid and start reading.
Even with the self-check outs. Some how, some way, it gets screwed up...
But - at least I can amuse myself :)

OMG, there is someone else out there with the same dumb luck as me. I get so sick of waiting for the idiots in front of me but I am afraid if I leave the line it will suddenly move faster and I will have picked the wrong one again.

I'm a cheater; it doesn't matter how much I have,if there's any way i can sneak into the express line I'll do it. I mean,I'm totally ruthless.
