Hah! True story. Some years ago I was doing some work at my computer. My foot had fallen so far asleep that I didn't even know it was asleep. When I went to take a step it was so dead that it was useless. I completely turned my ankle over and had to wear a brace for the next six weeks.

I used to get pinchers in the foot when it fell asleep but then I changed to walking a lot, running and riding my bicycle and didn't get the pinchers anymore. I did have 5 experiences wherein I didn't know my entire leg was asleep and i fell (I could have broken something). So my worry is in like falling down the stairs or falling on the street. ... when a foot falls asleep you could easily step on it and break your foot or hurt yourself. I know my sleep leg didn't have anything to do with this but sometimes it could be the start of diabetes Mine had to do with too tight clothing (like a girdle) and tights that I used to wear, or I used to sit on my leg. I know the whole body can shut down from taking some kinds of diet pills (it did for me)....but no, not worried the foot will fall off.

Once in high school, I was sitting on the floor so long that both of my legs fell asleep. The bell rang to go back to class and when i stood up, i realized that they'd fallen asleep and i fell flat on my face... while everyone was walking in the halls to go to class (which was were i was). sucks.

no, but my husband"s arm falls asleep sometimes when he is asleep and when he wakes up in the middle of the night he freaks out because if can't find it. he's half asleep. it's hilarious.
