In the movie, "The Aviator", were the men wearing white gloves, real, or imagined by Howard Hughes?

I was watching that movie on cable one night and wondered that same question, when I saw it again. Can anyone tell me?

It depends on which scene you mean. When he was in the hospital I remember a person slicing oranges was wearing gloves and they really were there.
I think the men near the end of the movie that were moving towards him thru the crowd were imagined. They were probably there, just in his mind, they were staring and moving towards him.
What a great movie, I think I'll watch it again just to be sure.
