My husband and I are moving to Denver next summer and are having a difficult time deciding what area to live in. We would prefer not to live downtown or capital hill area. Maybe a suburb? Please help!

I love how people say denver is a bad city. Makes me laugh. Denver is a political freak of nature relative to the rest of the country. Any way,

I suggest just north of town in the Curtis park area. I've been up here for about 4 years now. Here are a few reasons why.

-This hood is going threw the regentrafication process and you will gain a tremendous amount of equity on your home in the shortest amount of time. There is plenty of new devolpment going on up this way but not totally over taken yet. So prices are still rather inexpensive. If you're into lofts, there plenty of nice ones.

-A drunken stumble home from down town only takes about 15 minuets.

-Light Rail only takes 5 if you're too drunk to walk.

- I-25 and I-70 is right here with easy access to both including 6th. Once you learn this area, driving around is a snap.

-Most of the people up this way are awsome but not flakes like you may find in the burbs. They want this hood to become something nice so everyone is really into the community thing in a really cool way. Don't do cap hill. I think its very congested and traffic over there sucks.

-Curtis park is the oldest neighborhood in Denver.

-Access Access Access! Getting to the rest of the city is sweet from up here. Brighton is right around the corner, York will buzz you to cherry creek in about 7 minuets. The museum, Zoo and city park is only a 5 minuet Bike Ride....

I'm telling you this is where its at. I'm so excited right now I'm going for a walk.

Although I live in the burbs, if I could live downtown, I would like to live in the Highlands. Its an up and coming area still in the city.
