I am not pregnant but I want to start taking prenatal vitamins to strengthen my hair and nails. My question is what are the pros and cons (if any) to taking these vitamins when you are not pregnant. Also, do these vitamins increase your chances of getting pregnant. Thank you in advance.

Prenatal vitamins are good to take. It gives you all the daily doses of vitamins you need. A good source of iron and you can get them at Walmart. I took my bottle in with me to the Doctors office when I had my yearly thing and she looked at them and said it was ok. Look for the baby on the bottle at Walmart.

No these will not increase your chance of getting pregnant they just help get your body ready for when you are trying to conceive.
I used to take Sam's club brand of multi-vitamin. Now I'm taking the dr. prescribed version of prenatal as I am trying to get pregnant.

They are just regular vitamins with more iron and folic acid.

You can take them whether you're pregnant or not, or whether you want to get pregnant or not. They won't increase your odds of getting pregnant.

Really, the contain higher does of vitamins all women need to be healthy.

I have taken them on and off for a couple of years for my hair and nails and it works fine. As far as I know there is no cons to taking them. And no it doesn't increase your chances of getting pregnant.

There are no cons. They are very good mulitvitamins providing it is a brand that is well absorbed by the body. Research different brands online to find out which ones are best absorbed by the body before you rush out to buy some.

they don't increase your chances, but it's great if you do become pregnant, because then they're already in your system.
