When looking at stainless steel sinks there are two things to look for. 18 gauge is about the thickest material I have seen offered. This will limit denting. Insulated bottom to lower noise level is the other. Finishes are pretty much standard with all manufacturers including brush, satin and mirror finish. I like the brush or satin as it will not show scratches as quickly.

It depends on where you live. There's a company called "The Great Indoors" that carry high quality, and expensive sinks. You can also look at companies that install counter-tops, they also offer high quality sinks. Your local hardware store may carry some good sinks but they usually carry the cheapest. You can also search on-line for kitchen sinks. However, they can probably order a better quality sink.
