This year our principal has decided all seniors will be given full schedule of 8 classes. So even if you need only five more classes for an advanced diploma, like me you get extras you don't need but can't drop. I have 3 useless classes, and I'm also enrolled in duel-enrollment, which means I attend a college composition course on Mondays from 4 to 6:40. What is your opinion on seniors being able to leave early versus being in school all day?

Other new rules this year: There are no passes at all, you have to call security (who most likly won't show) to escort you anywhere you need to go, or get there and to class on time in five min. There was a study hall period last year but not this year. Also if your late it's automatic sat. detention

When I was a senior five years ago, senior block (or early leave) was an option in my school. I was told not to do it, my guidance counselor said that it looks bad on college applications, shows laziness, and it gives colleges a reason to second guess your application. I didnt, and just graduated back in May from James Madison University.
It was proven true. A friend of mine took senior block and the best school she was able to get into was Rutgers (live in NJ) (and she was in NHS, high ranked and everything). Another girl who didnt take senior block, had the same crudentials as my friend, they were members of the same clubs, took the same AP classes, got the same AP score and everything, they even applied to similiar schools. The girl who didnt take senior block got into Columbia University (my friend also applied there, but got flat out rejected).
Take the BS classes. Looks much better on your applications than leaving.

There's nothing wrong with early leave. I had early when I was senior, which was just last year, and it was better than staying in school all day. Plus you take an extra class at a college so you need all the time you can get. And there's no use of staying in for classes you don't, so I think if you are able to take early leave you should take that early leave.

while you are going to college, then i do no longer see why one semester makes a distinction. you're no longer leaving your pals at the back of. in the event that they are your real acquaintances, they'll nevertheless be there. by the way, once you assert "college is 3 or 4 days each week for some hours" you need to shop in mind which you will additionally be interpreting for hours. besides, you need to graduate early.

its hard for me because my high school was so crowded we had split days.
juniors and seniors went from 7:30 to 11;30 and fesh and soph went from 11:00 to 3:45
we all graduated on time.
I am wondering why you could not get a special authorization considering your schedule in the first place.
to you have online courses you could use your extra studies for?
can you use them (if you cannot drop them) for athletic or artist classes just for some stretch time and break up the day?
try calling your school board and see if someone of "higher power" can be of help.

I would hope the school would ensure that those three classes were of high interest and beneficial to young people who are on the brink of going it alone in the world. If it's just more arts and crafts or study hall, then that school should be ashamed.

I don't see a problem with seniors leaving early. I left early my senior year.
