Why is it that companies use lead in the paint? Is it cheaper to make or what? I'm really curious!!!!!!!!!

Lead was added to paints because the pigments it formed, notably - the most common being - (lead chromate - chrome yellow, and lead carbonate - lead white) - were very cheap and vibrate colors and resistant to the environment and color degradation.

Lead was also added to paint to speed drying, increase durability, retain a fresh appearance, and resist moisture which causes corrosion.

Lead oxide was added to paint as a white pigment.
It was expensive and was favored because of its
durability. It made darn good paint, still does,
if you don't expect to eat the chips.
