I'm 14 and I don't want to get tampons but I really want to go to this birthday party my best friend is throwing. Please help me! I already told my friend I was going and she was so happy!

So you either try tampons (use the smallest size first), or you go to the party but stay out of the water. There's no other way to go about it.

give tampons a try... i tried a year ago and then another time and have given up on them, i'll try them again sometimes. don't worry if you can't use them the first time.... as a teen though i wish i could it'd make life a lot easier, huh??

depending on how large the party.. if it's your friends and you know everyone, then just come out and quietly kinda mention that you have your period. that way people can go in the water but you probably won't have to just sit on the side all alone (girls will be compassionate) and won't have to make excuses.

if not... then if your flow is really really light, go in for a bit and change immediatley after.

and if not that.... then hopefully someone has a better excuse for you to use! you're not alone in the periods-suck-club when they seem to come JUST at the very wrong moment. good luck!!!!!!!!

You have choice? if you're not going to wearing a tampon, this mean you can't go in the water. If you're on period. If you want goes go the pool. You have to wear the tampon. I know, you want goes to the party. So, you have to make-up, you want to do. Anyway, have fun for the party.....

Its either tampons or moon/diva cup or NO SWIMMING.

You will make the pool water unsanitary with your menstrual flow!

Your period also does NOT stop nor does it slow down in the water, it only LOOKS that way because the water disperses it.

i feel for ya! I am 22 and still don't use tampons! lol

here are some suggestions:
- say you can only stay a while and can't get wet because you are going out somewhere
- die your hair and say you can't go in water for a few more days because you just dyed your hair
- say you can't find your bathing suit and have had no time to go buy a new one

good luck!

you'll have to either use a tampon or stay outta the water. You can't go in the water with a pad on.
