Target and Kmart are just as cheap and less crowded.

I avoid walmart if I can. I'd rather get my useless cheap plastic crap at k-mart or target just to avoid being around the kind of people that go into walmarts. I'm sure you've seen em...the fat crusty guy in overalls and no shirt...the pregnant teen in a tube top...8 year old girls with their OMFG thongs hanging out...the smelly lady in the moo moo that can't seem to make up her mind about cat food and takes up the whole isle for 15 min...
The prices are pretty well the same so booooo walmart LOL

Although Wal-Mart is crowded, usually dirty, and there are never enough check outs open, there is a great percentage of middle class people who cannot afford to NOT shop there. I know that Wal-Mart actually is the cheapest because they usually send employees to scout other stores then make their items one or two cents less so they can claim that they have the lowest price and they do. I worked at a K-Mart and am not very impressed with their store either, but I love to shop at Target whenever I can. The quality is usually better but you pay for it. The other thing that made Wal-Mart the giant that it is today is the one-stop shopping. We are starting to see more Super Targets and Big K's but those stores are not nearly as commonplace as Super Wal-marts.

Kmart is not always as cheap as Walmart and Target is definitely not as cheap as Walmart. Of course both of these places tend to have better quality stuff. I heard that the reason Walmart gets these prices so low is they buy products from places like China. That's on top of mass ordering discounts.

People shop at Walmart becuase it IS cheaper than Target, and there seem to be very few Kmarts around anymore. Even if it is shopping for the antichrist, people want to save their hard earned money.

Target is not as cheap. Kmart doesn't have the selection, I don't think anyways. I love Walmart. I can do my grocery shopping and everything in one place. I love it.

I personally can't stand shopping at walmart but I do because it is the most convenient place to go. I like Target better, they have better quality, much cleaner and like you said, not as crowded and the prices aren't anymore expensive.
Oh, by the way I do not shop at these places for food other than snacks, the meat department sucks at both. I go for household items and that is it.

There are more Wal-Marts in my areas than Targets or Kmarts, so it is just a convenience issue. Although, I try to avoid it altogether and stick with Family Dollar.

I dislike walmart, but they are a necessary evil, I guess because I HATE K-Mart. Our K-mart is terrible and they never have anything I need and seems like I always get over charged. We don't have a local target, but we will have one by the end of the year!
