You have to be very careful when dealing with Singapore employment agents.

First, 1,200 per month will only qualify you for a non-skilled position falling under the work permit quota allowance, I don't think the offer is genuine.

Second your qualifications should qualify you for an S Pass which is a modified work permit requiring minimum wage of $2,000.

Normally degreed qualifications require $3,600 salary.

First really should have been, 'What is your nationality? The law in Singapore is different for different countries.

Please mail if you need further inquiry. I can put you in touch with someone with better knowledge.

More than normal, if you are to live like the local medium high income type of lifestyle. Many have less than S$6000, but are comfortably in Singapore. But if you party every other night, S$6K will be too little. Yet again, if you consider that is normal lifestyle, it is your choice. Singapore is well connected by the public transport. However, if you choose to drive, you may have to bear the cost. However, 2 wheelers are cheap. Food is cheap in Singapore at the local hawker stall. Clean and nice too. But if you eat in restaurant every other day, things will be different. Cooking will be cheaper.
