Everytime i'm looking at the yahoo answers section for pregnancy, i keep seeing "am i pregnant? could i be pregnant?" why don't you just take a freakin' test and find out?

you can't rely on total strangers to TELL you you're pregnant. If you think you are, take a test and you'll know for certain. geez!

I think it's because they are either excited about the idea of being pregnant that they want that validation- those "Yeah you definitely sound pregnant- go get a test!" responses or because they are in fear of being pregnant and want a 2nd opinion or are looking for those "No, I don't think you have anything to worry about" responses. And for those TTC (trying to conceive) for a long period of time, I'm not sure what they're looking for- extra reassurance that this month might be "The + month" or they want posts that will help them see reality like "Well, I don't think it looks good this month- but good luck"

I do get annoyed by these posts too. And for those that are asking why we bother answering or why we get annoyed or give them a second look- well the answer is that I always try to help anyone who is looking for answers (even if their question totally annoys me) and it's NOT always an easy thing to do.
When you have to tell someone who has obviously been trying for a very long time that "it doesn't look promising" you feel like the Grim Reaper or the bearer of bad news. And when you tell someone "yeah- it looks promising" and it ends up that they aren't- you feel a little guilty for giving a sence of hope.

It's not just that they are annoying, it's that some of them can be very difficult to answer- either because you really are just guessing and grabbing at straws or because you know you're going to have to give someone news that they don't want to hear. It's not always fun.

Well I am sure that you have received a lot of negative responses to this question because when my friend asked a similar question people were practically yelling at her.

I AGREE-it is a stupid question to ask.

I understand the need for support for someone who spent a year plus ttc-but you never once saw me on here asking that question. Take a test or wait and see.
Another question that really pisses me off is the pregnancy with period- a period is the replacing of the uterus lining-if you are losing your lining then no egg implanted successful. Now you can be pregnant and have bleeding-but that is not a period!!! Look it up ladies-get educated. If your friend had a period while pregnant, ask her did she have sex the night before the so called "period".
For all the women who are wanting us to tell you that you are pregnant-I can't. I am sorry, but it is time to face reality. Trying to conceive is a hard and trying time-but the more you let yourself believe that you can be the more you play with the idea-the more it sucks each month when you are not. Take a TEST. Let us know when you are and then ask your prego questions. Good luck.

I agree with you. Why don;t they take a freaking test and find out if you are pregnant or not. Not all test that you take are real. That is why you should take the test and go to the doctor to go check.

i am often amazed by that. Seems it would be really easy to just buy a test and check. If theyy want me to check out by the dates of conception, due date, blah blah blah, I don't have the proper supplies to do that. And that would only work if the ovulation is super, super regular.

Oh, Well.

If they want to be pregnant, they feel if a lot of people think they are and they hope hard enough, then they will be. I guess its like positive affrimation or something. I guess if they don't want to be, and then if a lot of people say they probley aren't, then they feel "positive" that they aren't.
In other words, some people feel if you hope hard enough and enough people think it too, then it will happen.
Or maybe they don't have enough money or are too lazy to get a pregnancy test!!!

i totally agree with you.
i actually stopped for a while going into the "pregnancy" subject because that same question was being asked and it just got me tired of seeing it!!

they should take a test and they will have their answer!

Because taking a pregnancy test can be scary. If you want it to be postive you're too scared it'll come out negative. And the opposite if you don't want to be pregnant.

They just want our opinions. They know they have to take a test, they're just curious what other people think about their situation. I don't mind answering them, it's fun guessing!
