I asked a question about a rapist and a murderer who's victim was 11, that isnt deemed of sound mind due to mental illness to stand trial. All I asked was do you think its rediculous that that should matter. I mean the person killed someone a child in a terrible way, and everyone was offended that I think the man should executed either way. I am a mother, I let my emotions rule me when things like that happen, and I make no appologies. Everyone has a rigt to there opinion!!

whatever, I guess it has to be a question that brainless people can answer with a yes or a no, without posting there reasons for there answer. Ok puppets report that!

It's because people hit the abuse button if answers or questions are not agreeable with them. Yahoo has some strange reasons for sending a violation notice. I had one last week and was told it was none of my business what the outcome of my appeal was. Go figure. They are better at that than enforcing their own rules.

I didn't see your original question, but I have read the community guidelines. If two people report you, your question will be automatically deleted and you will receive a violation notice.
Many people are reported because they are not really asking a question at all. Instead, they post a ranting essay strongly stating their opinion and then throw in a rhetorical question just for looks.
Similarly, people who are responding to questions can receive violations for making no attempt to actually answer the question. I received one of these violations myself when I made a sarcastic reply to an obvious troll who posted just to cause controversy. Responses like "the answer is obvious", or "I don't know, but thanks for the points", are not answers, so somebody hits the report button.
While everyone has a right to their opinion, that's not what we are here for. Answers is not the opinion section of the newspaper or an online political blog.
If you receive multiple violations, your access to Answers can be suspended and, if you are found to be a really bad girl, you can even lose your Yahoo account. So if this place is important to you, read the guidelines carefully and do your best to follow the rules.

I read your posting and I think the violation may have been that it was simply not a question. Here are two excerpts from the guidelines that may help: (numbers mine for clairity)
1. Asking clear questions.
Keep your questions succinct, but be descriptive enough to help people understand what you're asking. Correct spelling and grammar help people find your questions, and you'll get better answers when others can clearly make out what you're asking.
2. Venting, ranting, or using hate speech.
Yahoo! Answers isn't a soapbox to vent personal frustrations or rant about issues. We are a community of people with diverse beliefs, opinions, and backgrounds, so please be respectful and keep hateful and incendiary comments off Yahoo! Answers.
3. Chatting or otherwise violating the question-and-answer format.
Yahoo! Answers is a community of questions and answers, not a chat room. If a post is neither a question nor an answer, it doesn’t belong here. If you’re looking for a place to chat with others, try Yahoo! Groups or Yahoo! Messenger Chat Rooms.

They seem to just delete any answer that is reported, instead of actually having someone review them. Most of the time the answers are reported because the asker or some reader doesn't like what the answerer as to say.
I've gotten violations for using the word Jew...because apparently thats racist.

I agree with you. I don't know why people report you on here. I have received violation notices, I don't care anymore. This is just a forum to express your views and have some fun. I was reported yesterday because of some Ron Paul loving jerk didn't like what I said about his candidate. If people are so sensitive why are they here.

Your opinion makes sense actually. When an animal attacks and kills a person, it is put to death even though it was probably acting on instinct and didn't know any better. The same thing could apply to mentally ill people.

you're right, this guy raped and murderd a child he should be executed. some people, rich people, or people with an affiliation to a good lawyer can get away with messed up stuff like that. one thing that's stupid is making people that get caught with a weapon or drugs go to prison over a rapist.
it's great that you give your true opinions on stuff.

I totally agree that everyone has a right to their opinion.
HOWEVER, people do not have the right to be insulting, posting a rant, post sexual contact items or things in Spanish (on this English only area).
People do report you for the dumbest things. I answered a question yesterday about whether Terrorists were bad. Well, that was kind of a "duh" question. I posted "duh." I was reported.

I've had a couple of my questions removed. Maybe people feel that we will further warp the minds of the warped already.
