Is she an experienced cow?
How big is the egg she is trying to lay?
Has a rooster or bull been anywhere near the cow in the last few days?
If the cow has had a litter of kittens anytime inthe last 30 days it will take her a lot longer to lay a decent sized egg.
One nice thing though, cows lay huge eggs, one is enough for a nice breakfast.
All things to think about, farmers are very very busy trying to keep cows laying all the time, and can you imagine the troubles they have hooking up the milking machines to a chicken?

Cow is a mammal. Mammals do not lay eggs. Their eggs are produced but remain inside for fertilization and for development.
In mammals the fertilization and development both are internal. So no need of laying eggs.
