Myself and some guy/gal I just met on the plane or the flight attendant, whoever is closer. All the others are VIPs so I won't be allowed to get close to them leave alone try saving them besides they security guys may even snatch my parachute!

I don't think Buddha would need a parachute, nor would Elmo or Ronald McDonald. The world would go on without the rest of the list, so I save myself and the flight attendant if it's a woman. Then we can go out after we are rescued and talk about our experience.

because hopefully he will be my best mate for it and give me lots of money for saving him
The rest are either unimportant (anderson, elmo etc) knew the risk and were okay with it (captain, flight attendant) or they had faith or achieved a lot so they wouldn't care about dying (ghandi, buddah etc) and I wouldn't feel guilty later for letting them all die.
Although I don't know who Donald Trump, Jesse Jackson or Jon Stewart are..but I am guessing I don't care.
If Bill Gates wasn't there I'd probably save the random person i'd just met

Ghandi and Buddah are already dead, and the captain and crew are going down with the plane, soooooo ...
I'm gonna go with the Pope and the random person. The random person could go on to discover a cure for cancer, or be inspired by my selfless act to do something significant for the world. The majority of the rest can probably contribute more to the world by leaving their fortunes / being martyred.

I will say myself and a toss up between
Bill Gates and Donald Trump--I am sure there is a hefty reward for saving their lives!!! Then I would go and pray for the resting of the souls lost on the flight!!

well me - ofcourse i'd save me.
well not pam anderson...she has 2 parachutes of her own .
ronald mcdonald scares me.
elmo gets on my nerves
most likely some guy i met on the plane .
in the future, we can sit and laugh about that time we were going to crash and die in a plane . :]
