After the Colts destroyed the Saints last night, do you still pick the Patriots or do you start to believe the Colts will retain their title?

I ask now because everyone has jumped on the Patriot bandwagon. When your the defending champs you are champs until your beat. It's disrespectful how everyone jumps the bandwagon.

Its only week 1. They still have to play 15 more games. Ask this question around week 8. Plus the Patriots havent even played yet.

Ok. I hate that everyone is building up on this Patriots/Colts rivalry, but I'll bite anyways. Colts fans seem to forget all the times that Brady and Bellichek owned Manning, including a 24-3 victory over him in New England in the playoffs. Patriots fans seem to forget that while they may be used to winning championships, they are not the defending champions this year, the Colts are, and for a reason. Included in that was a victory over the Patriots in both the regular season and playoffs. Just because the Patriots made huge offseason gains does not make them the team to beat. Also, just because the Colt's defense appears to be improved, doesn't mean that they are capable of rolling over anyone they want and are assured of retaining their title. And, if they don't, that doesn't mean the Patriots will instantly be crowned.

I raise questions about both teams because I feel that everyone is 0-0 (except the Colts are 1-0 and the Saints are 0-1) and are on level playing fields. Just because things have happened last year or the past few years doesn't guarentee that the same will happen in '07. There's football to be played to answer these questions. There's one thing I do know: whether they go 0-16 , 16-0, or somewhere inbetween, my pick will always be the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets.

Picking the Patriots is a logical choice based on current player experience and off season acquisitions, not a "bandwagon" pick. Last nights game was to be somewhat expected. The Colts have been together for a long time. They know each other and know what to expect. Just look how Manning jumps all over the field calling audibles while his front line is set like statues. Meanwhile the Saints have really only been together with its key players and coaches for a year. They should improve as the year goes on.

I remember last year the picks were Bengals and Cowboys in the Superbowl. Wasn't even close. It could just as easily be the Jets and 'skins this year. Who knows? Players get injured, have bad years, arrested, etc. Its useless to try to predict things now. Too early. Week 6 is when we will have a pretty good idea as to who is real and who isn't.

Although the Colts did stomp the Saints, you have to keep in mind that they ARE the Saints and have never had a trackrecord of success, except for last year which could definitely be a fluke. The Colts are usually unbeatable at home anyway, and there's no reason to think the Patriots, with the best track-record in the 21st century and with a host of new recievers and defense, won't be able to beat the Colts in the semi-finals this year.

So yes, everybody still picks the Patriots.

Colts looked good last night, no doubt. And they are the defending SB Champs but it's only week 1 with a long way to go. You are obviously a Colts fan but even you have to admit nothing is guaranteed for Indy, they will have to earn another shot at the SB and in the AFC there are at least 4 or 5 teams that could be tough for Indy.

I've never picked the Patriots because the Colts have dominated them the past 3 meetings. The Patriot offense has not scored more than 27 points and the Colts have averaged 35. Yes, the Patriots added some receivers but I have never bought the nonsense that the receivers were the problem.

My pick has not changed at all. (Hint, they destroyed this year's trendy NFC pick last night)

I hate the Patriots, and I am sick and tired of hearing about them. Nothing would please me more than to see them get blown out by the Colts. The train ride is over in New England, maybe the analyst will get off there. Right now is the time for a new team to get the glory, but the analyst will not stop talking about the Patriots. Lets hear it for the Steelers, Colts, Chargers and Bengals. The other AFC teams that get lost in shuffle.

We still don't know what the patriots and chargers, etc. are capable of yet.

That said, the Colts certainly impressed me last night.
