BS! Wear whatever you want! . I love swa, but I as well once got removed from a flight along with two others for just as silly of a reason.
I was sitting in the front bulkhead on a 5:00pm flight from Austin to Dallas with two older women on either side of me. Mind you there were no children anywhere to be seen and we do have a right to free speech. So, the lady next to me smacked her leg on something and said the word "dammit", not very loud but in a normal tone, the flight attendant repremanded her and she tried to explain and say she was sorry but the attendant was rude and whiny, saying that SWA doesn't tollerate that kinda language.
The lady felt this was total crap and informed the attendant that she used the word in a manner to where no children could hear, and brought up the fact that there were none around. anyhow, being 5 oclock after work on friday, we all ordered some bloody mary's as we talked about how silly it was that the attendant got so flustered over the word damn. So, me being the immature 21 yr old at the time smacked my leg on something as the flight attendant walked by and said "****", whilst the other lady said "damn, that looked like it really f*****ing hurt".
Mind you, that all these statements were made in normal tones, not yelling or disturbing other passengers, just mocking as the attendant would go by. The flight attendant procedded to mess with us the rest of the flight, as we did the same. when the plane landed, TSA or whoever was heading security at Love Field came on board and escorted all three of us, and the attendant off the plane and into the security office. we were all briefly questioned and released shortly thereafter. They said we would be "logged in the system" or some bs to scare us from doing it again.
Damn bible beating flight attendants. making up thier own rules. oh and to the person saying they have the right to refuse service? how can they refuse service when they have to sell you a ticket beforehand. they can't see into the future and say, well, this chick may wear a short skirt on our plane and some random whiny ***** might whine about it, so lets not waste any of her time and just not sell her a ticket in the first place. So this should mean that no one in the airport, security, bag check etc had any problems with her aside from whoever complained. I love how a low level employee like a flight attendant can make corporate level decisions as they see fit. I think we should have a movement of all hotties wearing short skirts invading SWA flights nationwide, and please forward their itinerary !

While I think blaming the religious right is a little out of left field, I do feel that SW were way out of line in asking this woman to step off the plane. Yes, her skirt was very short, in fact, during her interview this morning, they had to blur her mid regions briefly as she resumed her seat to avoid showing her underwear on live tv, but as she told Matt Lauer, she was sitting cross legged with a magazine in her lap so she wasn't reveling anything to other passengers. In fact, if you read the news coverage, she was not asked to leave the flight because of a passenger complaint. Rather, it was a complaint from another flight attendant that prompted her removal. She's 23, beautiful, and the weather was over 100 degrees. A short skirt was appropriate under those circumstances. Yes, a business does have the right to refuse service to anyone, but this was the most ridiculous reason. The airline has no published dressed code and she was dressed provocatively, not obscenely. As her attorney stated on the today show, has she been Paris Hilton, or some other celebrity, no one would have mentioned her outfit. While I don't encourage the rampant litigation so prevalent in this country, I do feel she is owed an apology for her treatment.

You ought to able to see that all of this is nothing more than a "stunt" for a little bit of fame. And she might "get paid" too.
But SouthWest had better get those camera's out so that people can see exactly how she was wearing those clothes. I know they didn't pull her off of the plane with her skirt looking like that. She must have had it raised higher to get the attention she needed to follow-through on her plans.
And I'm not player-hatin', I'm just sick and tired of people trying to get over by using bogus lawsuits, which is what she's really trying to do.
She was hoping she would get a "negative" response from that company because it would help her plans.
Pay attention. You'll see.

I don't think that the airline should have said anything unless her vajay-jay was on display, but, as a female myself, I gotta say that I don't feel bad for her. Who dresses like that for a plane ride to the doctors? It's one thing to feel sexy and confident about yourself, but it's another to wear a short skirt like that. I'm no prude, but there's definitely something wrong with the way girls dress these days, and sadly, it's the more younger girls that are wearing the short jean skirts that barely cover their butt cheeks.
But Southwest should have backed up their claim with showing her a rule or something that passengers can't wear revealing clothing, and if they do, they will be asked to exit the plane. If they have no such rule, then they shouldn't have said a word to her.

Of course it is wrong the CNN video showed her wearing not that extreme, you see it ever day on campuses and in stores. In no way did she look like a slut, so more than likely the ONE person that complained was a cranky old woman who still feels woman should be covered head to toe and finds it unacceptable to show what they have.
But the best thing is that Southwest had a commercial from the 70s with the stewardesses wearing hot pants! What happened to that.
I called southwest to complain and they hung up on me!

I'm in no way defending her, there are times you can get away with dressing like she did (a club or going out for drinks perhaps?). But I do think they went a bit overboard with trying to keep her off the plane because of her outfit. The skirt wasn't that short, maybe if she wore flip flops it wouldn't have appeared as short as it did. But on second though, I'm pretty sure her "assets" would've been exposed if she leaned over to stash her carry-on bag in the overhead compartment. Maybe a few passengers were offended because of that? It's messed up how the media is highlighting the fact that she works at Hooters, they're trying to make look like a slutt.

I think they were extremely out of order. That skirt was not that short. It wasn't like you could see her butt cheeks or anything. I think whoever removed her was just a little jealous that she was an attractive young women. If I were that girl I would have been extremely embarrassed, especially since they made her cover with a blanket the whole time. Just ridiculous.

Ok, here's the deal: She is a young woman-23, wearing a mini skirt-BIG DEAL! Did any of you ever see the SWA commercial when they aired it in the 70's? Well guess what-that's exactly how the flight attendants dressed then, yup, in mini-skirts. You see that was the style then. And it was just fine. So now here we are 30 years later and now it's not acceptable. What a bunch of garbage! I can't imagine how a young person that age must be feeling. It's the style once again, but someone took offense to it-well TO BAD. I'll bet she didn't say anything the hefty hanna across the isle with skin hanging out from her clothing that was skin tight. You & I know we see that all the time. Whomever that 1 person was that complained should be ashamed of themselves. Come on people, we can't stand for that kind of garbage here in America. Enough is enough!

I haven't seen the skirt personally; however I do believe that Southwest is indeed out of order for removing someone for wearing a short skirt. If the woman was not showing any nudity, then I do not believe there is any reason for her to be removed from the airplane---is this the 1950's?
And I saw a couple of answers (girls no less!) that really bother me---one stated some clothing (referring to short skirt) is "downright offensive." If there is no nudity, why would anyone be offended by a short skirt? Is it hurting your eyes? Is it making you cry? Hurting your feelings? MY idea of offensive clothing is something that advertises a racist, bigoted, or pornographic statement or picture.
Another girl stated that "any girl who wears a skirt" knows they will be getting looks/disdain...this isn't very far from the kind of mindframe that blames a rape victim because they wore a short skirt.
So in effect, people are stating here that a woman in America, dserved to be kicked off a plane, for wearing a short skirt that showed no nudity. The woman was not creating a risk to passngers, she was not being rude, or disruptive; she was just wearing a short skirt, and that's a GOOD reason to have her removed from the plane?
No wonder the (current) government has no problem taking our rights away....half the people are more than willing to give up their own personal rights just to see a girl with a short kicked off a plane.
What's next people? You get kicked off the plane for wearing a shirt that's considered too low cut? You get kicked off the plane for looking too "Goth"? You get kicked off the plane because your jeans are too tight?

When did Southwest become religious??
Ive not seen the skirt, but clothing these days can be damn right offensive.
Just get dressed for chrissakes.
Alright I've seen the video - its not so much a skirt, as the remains of half a skirt (which she probably paid twice as much for).
I wouldn't have had a problem with allowing her to fly.
But really - can we not have a little decency in the way we dress....or are we all so desperate to get noticed?
