I know and met a few idiots who refuse to play great games, because of the graphics.
Example :
"I refuse to play starcraft because of the way it looks."
and
"Guitar Hero? They should have used the graphics like the Gorillaz music videos!"
And these same idiots tout over the awesomeness of like San Andreas. Now kid me not, San Andreas is a great game, but the graphics aren't exactly the greatest. If you run through any interior area, they're pretty blocky and ugly.
So why the put down? Why can't people just pick up games and think about the graphics AFTER playing it for an hour?

I prefer to only play games that have the whole package; Plot, Graphics, Sound, Gameplay, Character development...
There are exceptions... I really could care less about Graphics in Puzzle games for example where the focus is more on strategy and challenge...

most people dont look at the quality of gameplay over graphics because today everything is about progression the bigger the better.. in this case graphics the cleaner the better.. i have close to the same question what will people do when graphics are like real time then its not so much unlike a movie.. no longer a game BORING in my oppinion lol

I've never understood this either. Gameplay is #1 in my book. I'd take a game with fun and addictive gameplay and terrible graphics over a gorgeous game with crappy gameplay. I still get out my old NES, SNES, and N64 to enjoy my old games, and we all know how bad those old games' graphics are!

Visual is important i guess, just like when guys looking at girls, what guys do? LOOK first before you even talk to them.
I always wait for the rating, but if theres something i like, i play the demo or i just buy it straight away. What i am looking for is the gameplay and the FEEL

For me,graphics dont matter as long as it is a level up game like castlevania symphony of the night on playstaion 1
or armored core.
i like games that have much creative contents.

Well, obviously we're major graphic whores who enjoy seeing a highly detailed body fall to the ground.....and gibs....and...err weapons..

it is because as u judge about an person by its personlity. in the same way by looking at the graphics we look at core of that game...ok
