It's absolutely possible to be friends with a gentleman. You're just frustrated right now because, possibly, you're a little tired of some of the back stabbing your girlfriends are giving you, and you want a change of "venue". You want to hang out with a totally new group. How much more different could hanging with some guys be? Not much!

The thing is; if you're attractive, most men, especially young men your age, are going to be attracted to you "that" way FIRST. As the others have said, make it clear that you're not interested in that kind of relationship when it's tactfully possible.

While I, literally, have dozens of girl "friends", some of them made me into their "play" brother [Friend] a little farther into our relationship than I think they should have. If you're pretty, you already KNOW that that's your first "attraction" mechanism. A library with neon borders in the window will get people in to check out the books, while a less inviting appearance doesn't attract new clientele.

I'm amazed at how gorgeous women seem oblivious, or in denial of the appearance that they strive to keep thinking that, short of taking classes with them, that a man may initially be attracted to their mind.

It can be very disheartening to find out that someone just wants to be plutonic because the guy's method is to be a gentleman and they really want to take it slow and be friends with you before they became romantically involved with you.

Practice a tactful "out" to the romance scenario if you're not interested. It saves everyone precious time and feelings.

Most of my friends have always been guys, and yes it is possible. You can usually tell the difference. Unfortunately I have came accross the same problem occassionally and it bugs me too. Not much you can do but say, "hey, I don't like you that way" and if they want to really be your friend they'll accept that, if not you probably won't see so much of them anymore.

like "that"
you just might have a way with the gentlemen
and I suppose the only way to change that is to deliberatly
be an ugly person
then they wouldnt even wanna be friends with you
so tough luck... hehe
