Try it with Vista--a lot of programs that work with xp, also work with vista.

If you are presenting this question, I am assuming that you did try it with Vista, and it failed. Sadly, this is one of the flaws of Vista. To be secure, it only allows certain programs to work with the OS. Thus, if your web camera does not work with Vista, then you can not use it.
Thus, you must either purchase a new web camera that is compatible with Vista. Or, you could purchase a copy of XP and set up a dual-boot. Thus you could just boot the system in XP when you want to use the web camera.

Try it with Vista. Often the XP drivers will work in Vista. If not, check the web site of the manufacturer of the web cam. They may have Vista drivers available as a free download.

if you fins what ever program your webcam runs on in the start menu then right click it and click properties. then at the top select compatiblies and find the scroll down menu and click a windows that it workes on. this should work if it dosnt the try another type of windows or i will have been well and truly beaten and am sorry put 99% it will work
