Humans, or any other living organisms, are not tools of nature whereas living creatures utilize nature's resources, thus nature being a tool. Nature does not possess any "will" to consciously control living beings. It simply does or is.

This hermetic distinction between humans and nature doesn't reflect truth very well. Humans are a part of nature, neither more nor less.

A "tool" is also just a conventional concept. Nothing is inherently "a tool", but if you see something as a tool, it is a tool for you. Nature, on the other hand, cannot possibly see you as a tool. If you see yourself as "a tool of nature" ... well, that's your own notion, not objective truth.

It's all a question of intent. In order for something to be a "tool" there must be a mind to use the tool and consider it such.

In my opinion then, nature would be one tool used by people. Since "nature" has no mind, it would not seem that people would be capable of being its tool.

My definition of a tool is something that is used to repair something or prevent somethings demise. So nature would have to be our tool. We use so much of it to further Humanity as a whole.

The thought of humans being a tool for nature is laughable. We destroy and misuse Nature instead of repairing and preventing it's demise.
