I was thinking as marking each of them as $100.00 which would allow room for someone to haggle a little on the price.

I'd price the pine unit $75.00 OBO and the wood one from Lowes at $125.00 OBO.

I wouldn't mark the pine unit for more than $100 but I would expect to get $50. I would mark the other one for around $40-50 and take half of that. But this varies greatly by area. Around here, people don't buy stuff from yard sales unless it's considerably cheaper than new.

Consider selling them on craigslist or selling through a consignment shop instead. Or, do what I do and price yardsale stuff reasonably and refuse to bargain with people on the first day of the sale. Tell the interested parties that want to talk you down that everything will be half price on the last day of the sale starting at noon -- whatever's left by then. If they really want the stuff, they'll pay full price rather than wait to see if it's still there.

I would price the pine one at 150.00--leave yourself room to come down a little. Some people buy to remake things from the wood!
The Lowe's one-RTA (ready to assemble) furniture-probably a little cheaper now new than it was 2 years ago, gotten popular with the modern retro styling thats poPular now, but you can buy a whole bedroom suit for about 250,00-400.00 dollars. Also, lot on sale now, used for dorm furniture! Hey ,I love the new BLACK RTA FURNITURE, looks 50's/60/s style.Good luck. IF ITS heavy, WON'T YOU JUST BE GLAD ITS GONE! ha

The prices you are thinking of sounds good to me. Just keep in mind that you can always go down on the price but you can't go up:-) Good luck selling and if you don't have any luck you should check out yahoo groups for a cheapcycle group in your area to list those items on.

Remember - it's a yard sale! 10% of retail is what it should be.

Of course, if you're in a ritzy area, you can up the amount a little.

10% of original price is what I've heard, adjust according to age and condition.

good luck
