i forgot my password on my laptop. It runs on widows vista, is their anyway i can get around it without calling someone?

If the computer came with Vista reinstalled, they usually leave the administrator password "blank". Try booting the computer in Safe Mode. (Turn it on and begin pressing the F8 key repeatedly until you get a screen that offers you Safe Mode as an option.

It should prompt you for both a user name and a password. Enter "adminstrator" as the user name. Leave the password field blank (do not type anything into it.) Press enter. Hopefully the computer will log you in as the administrator.

Then, go to the Control Panel, click on the User icon, and reset the password for your regular user account.

Reboot the PC.

try restarting computer in safe mode by pressing f8 repeatedly and then log in as admin wich there is no password for, go to user accounts and change your password that way.

i'am not fmailiar with Vista but
can i ask what your password hint was(it should have one if not Vista Sucks) and try and solve that if not just re-install the system

You can put the name of your mother as a reminder of the password

Um you can try hacking into the computer or just reinstall the software and loose all your info
