I currently reside in the US but am transferring to a college just inside US. I will be living in Canada (in an apartment) and need to get a job in Canada too (then I will commute to college in US). How can I go about doing this legally?

If you are attending school in the US, I don't know that you will be able to live here without obtaining a work visa. This page should have all the answers you need.

Many Canadian companies will not hire Americans. I worked out of a construction union that was "international" including Canada. The Canadians came to the U.S. and worked on shut-downs (in refineries) but never let any of our members work up there. I have also heard (not positive if true) that an American citizen cannot buy property there.
