I think babies probably do feel some emotion while they are in the womb. I don't think being born is like turning on the switch for emotions, they must be there already. A baby probably can cry. But I don't think it laughs yet, most babies already born don't laugh until about 2-3 months anyway.

Hard to say..I know they can smile, suck thumb, "play" with their chords etc.
Laughing and crying takes air in the lungs, so they might go thru the motions, but no sound is going to come out.
Pain is felt at a certain time in development of the fetus...I think its about 15 weeks or so. Fear and being startled by loud noises happens around then too.
As for emotions, I dont believe they feel stuff until they are actually born...because it takes experiences to build on emotions. That doesnt mean they dont have them...they just dont have background to have that emotional reaction yet.

First of all, no it does not cry or laugh inutero. A baby does blink, yawn, and do lots of other things though.
Second of all, a newborn baby is only capable of crying because its not able to express any other emotion. It doesn't mean it has no emotions, it just doesn't know how to express them yet. So an unborn child is the same way. It can feel lots of things, its just not able to express them yet. Its all part of 'learning'. They learn to laugh and make noises from the world around it.
*sorry. does that sound rude? Its not meant to*

From what I have read and experienced yes. For example if you eat something they do not like or is spicy they kick and have a fit. At this age they can not laugh its a few months after they are born before they lern how to do that. O had one ultrasound where my baby would not move where the lady wanted her to, to get a good look at everything. So the lady put this vibrating thing on my stomach that my daughter did not like, you could see on the monitor that it looked like she was screaming until she stoped with the vibrating thing. It was funny.

Babies can "cry" when on the inside. The only thing is, it is not known to be real crying. It is known to be practice crying. Nothing is heard, because their is no air in the lungs. They can make the crying movements.
As for laughing, no. Newborns don't laugh until they are several months old.

yes, a baby can cry before been born. my mom is a proven proof of that. my grandmother was so frightened she wanted to get rid of her for she said she did it 3 times. as i was told from several people this type of children are called saurinos and usually have a special gift of visions. which she does. i have met other people with the same gift and the same situation before been born the crying.

The baby feels just like any other human being. Facial expressions have been documented in the womb. That's what the pro-choice people don't want to hear...that the baby they think is fine to kill can actually feel pain.

I think the baby while being in moms tummy can hear and feel and cry or even laugh.
When i was carrying my son he would get restless i too would place headphones on my tummy and it would calm him down.
If what i felt was jerking in my tummy i thought he was just having hiccups but it was his way of saying it's music time mom.

They can't laugh or cry. That takes air, and they receive oxygen directly through the umbilical cord. Not qualified to say about emotions, but with no stimulus, and incomplete nervous and endocrine systems, it's extremely doubtful.
