There is no meaning. That's why this question is unanswerable and long after you close this question you won't be satisfied sifting through canned wisdom. There are however truths that can be uncovered that can give you peace. Nothing matters really. We are accidental animated carbon spinning on a 4.5 billion year old rock. The people around us are animals called homosapiens. And they are very foolish, stupid, weak and selfish. We are like parrots and easily influenced so beware what you expose yourself to and who you associate with. Take calculated risks, because this is a one shot deal. Look after your health. A lot of satisfaction can be found in love. Expect change, everything is temporary. Try to live a good life in summary. Have balance, be good if you are a good person, most people aren't. Then its over. Enjoy the ride.

Many people have gone to the grave asking this question.
I guess there is no meaning if we not Believe in God. If, we believe in evolution then we just an evolved organism destined to die and make room for something new.
I believe the meaning of life is to develop a relationship with God through Christ Jesus. It seems to give purpose to life. Other than Jesus I see no real purpose. How can there be a meaning if we just another part to the puzzle of evolution destined to go extinct one day like the dinosaur?

You know, I'm not exactly sure. But I'm POSITIVE it has nothing to do with answering this question, which is posed almost every day. Instead, you ahould ask yourself "What is the meaning of MY life?" It would be impossible to say what the meaning of life itself is, because it is not necessary for it to have a meaning. And becuase we each think with a distinct mind and have free will, there could be 6 billion different answers to the question.

If you are an ardent fan of Hitch Hikers Guide to the galaxy then the answer must be 42! But if this is not the case then the definition must be LOVE, but this poses another problem what is the definition of Love. I can only point to an answer I found in John 3:16 from the bible!

The meaning of life is a life with meaning.

I just hope Bernard_Love_God did a lot of cut and pasting in his answer or else his meaning of life will be to suffer wrist RSI.
