The big moment is only hours away; Penn State is set to kick off against Notre Dame here in Happy Valley. While I'm pumped for the game, I feel that it's over-hyped, considering Notre Dame's offense looks terrible so far and Penn State should have no problem defeating them. I know it's been years coming and naturally that will build up the hype that much more, but I'm wondering how everyone feels about the hype surrounding this game compared to the well-deserved hype of the Penn State/Ohio State game of 2005, which I think everyone will agree with me when I say "...WHAT a game!"

There is a lot of history for both teams, but this will not be a good game. The hype comes from the history. Notre Dame is in for a long and bad season. Penn State will do quite well this year.

Penn State will get revenge for last years whooping when they lost to Notre Dame 41-17.

Facts: Notre Dame only had 122 yards of total offense against Georgia Tech, -8 yards of that was on the ground. Notre Dame gave up 265 yards on the ground.

Penn State should romp Notre Dame. The only question I have with Penn State right now is its offense. Sure, they have extremely talented receivers, but those guys are worthless if Morelli can't get them the ball.

Isn't a team allowed to have a rebuilding year anymore?

They lost Quinn, McKnight, Smarzidja (don't feel like looking up the spelling on that.) at the skill positions. Obviously the young O-line needs work. Defense was already bad last year. Yeah, ND sucks this year, but they're not the ones hyping it up and talking about themselves. If the media won't stop talking about them even when they're bad it's not their fault! Penn St. should easily win this one, so what? How many years has ND easily beaten Penn St? It happens, teams are up and down. Weiss has the recruiting going in the right direction, it just takes time, especially when he came into a good situation with Quinn and couldn't 'start from scratch' until this year.

I'm picking Penn St. to win decisively in Happy Valley against The Failing Irish.

Also, Teej, I agree about the 2005 PSU/OSU game, although I was on the losing end. Planning my trip to Happy Valley for the rematch this year!

Go Bucks!

This will be a snoozer by half time. Notre Dame is done. I think everyone in the top 25 would like to play N.D. this year. If Penn St. wins big, it is what should of happened, but if N.D. plays them close Penn St. drops and N.D. gets a little more undeserved hype.

I'm Pennsylvania proud, so you know I'm rooting for Penn State (even though I'm more partial to Pitt).

Do you think Joe Pa is gonna get hit by a flying player this year?

Notre Dame games are always over-hyped.

This should be a good match-up to watch, but neither of these teams has shown that they will finish top 10 this year.

This will not be a blow out game, it never is. I believe Penn State will have a game on there hands, but with no problem, they will come out on top.
