I just started yaz this week and i'm trying to read the booklet that comes with it but it's really confusing. Its says if you take it on one day you dont have to use backup at all but if you start on another day you have to use back up for the first 7 days. Well I started it and that same day my bf and i had sex and wouldnt you know, teh condom broke! So im still taking the pill and still using back up im just wondering if i should be worried and what the **** does that stupid book mean?

I have been on the pill for 2 years..and as far as I knew or understood, you are supposed to use a second form for the first MONTH...and hmm, I am not really sure about Yaz...but if you only took it one day, then there is a very good chance you could get pregnant. It takes way longer than a day to work...Hope I helped :) Good luck!

Whenever you start any birth control pill there is a chance you can become pregnant because your body is not adjusted to the cycle of the hormones. It can take up to three months to have the maximum effectiveness of The Pill. It isn't instantaneous.

If you start the Sunday AFTER your period you should be fine. But if you start on the other day, then you might have a problem.

Keep taking the pills and using a condom. If you think you're pregnant in two weeks, take a test.

Well, ANY time you have sex you can get pregnant as NO contraceptive is 100% effective.

IMO You should wear a condom for the first week or two of starting to take pills.

for the first week you use condoms. and since your condom broke...i dont know. theres always a possibility you could have gotten pregnant. there is a pill you can get from walgreens/CVS that it destroys the fertilized egg if it did fertilize. you might want to get that if you seriously dont want to get pregnant. or dont take the pills and wait 1 more month to test fro pregnancy. then start it again if your not pregnant. good luck. ♥

Yes. You need to use backup for like a week or so until the pill kicks in.
