I am having a problem w/my laptop and I called the company and they said I can restore my computer, but they couldn't tell me how b/c my warranty was almost up.....

Its a Toshiba Product.... And thats exactly what she said-my warranty is almost up and b/c of that I would have to pay...And if I didnt want to pay I can use their website for support...But she said she couldn't walk me through the steps of restoring b/c my warranty is almost up...

if u just wanna restore ur system...click start >> accessories >> system tools >> system restore!!

then follow the instructions...

but if u wanna reinstall windows, then use ur product CD that came with the laptop....it's fairly straightforward...if ur not sure how to, then google it...

That was a cop-out...they just couldn't be bothered. Call back, and if the same twit answers, ask for his operator number, and to be trasnfered to his/her boss. Lodge a complaint.

If you are running XP, you can access a restore function on your Start Menu.

Use the system restore disk that came with the laptop.

Because your warrenty was 'almost' up?

What company was that, as they don't seem like someone I'd want to buy from?

Seems like something Gateway would do, tho.

Click START - ALL PROGRAMS - ACCESSORIES - SYSTEM TOOLS - SYSTEM RESTORE. check the RESTORE MY COMPUTER IN EARLIER TIME click next and choose the date (month, year and day) that you think your computer has Install its OS and then click next and then next click ok.
