and my fan is not turning on. my computer gets hot and even turns off. this started happening last night. what can i do to try to fix it without replacing the fan or do i need to replace the fan?

bad logicboard or possable fan.
to reoplace the fan you need to open uo the computer.
remove all teh screws from the bottom.

Your system is overheating.
Replacing the fan will be a cheap fix.
Make sure you have enough ventilation room for it. If you have stuff packed around your PC that is a problem.
This also could be a sign of a problem with the motherboard or CPU.
Dowload SpeedFan to monitor system temperature.

Replace the fan. They're not very expensive, and easy to remove and replace.
