If I were to purchase a swimming pool, and use sand as part of a landscaping around the pool, would this affect the filtering system if the sand falls into the swimming pool, or can I also have sand on the swimming pool floor?

Sand on the bottom of your Pool on purpose, is a bad idea and won't work. However sand around the pool is fine as part of the landscaping. Your pool filter will just need finer catch baskets to catch any sand that accidentally falls into the water. Your pool filter is perfectly capable of handling small amounts of sand that can be back-flushed out when you clean your pool. I have several tons of sand surrounding my pool and it's been this way for over 8 years. No problems sand related ever.........Good Luck!

No, you can't have sand on the floor of the pool. It would just get stirred up with movement and turn the water into a dirty-looking mess. I would also imagine that it would clog the filtration system extremely effectively and quickly.

Not a great idea.

I beleive that it would be fine if sand got in your pool, i know people who have had that and didn't have a problem. You should just have a pool sweeper.

Sand will clog the filters. This is not one of the better landscaping plans I've heard of.

Yes it would be fine as long as you have a sand filter for your pool.
