I want to clean the grout in my bathroom and I've been reading online and some say use vinegar, others never use vinegar, some say use bleach, others say never use bleach and then others say use baking soda. Big confusion.

Does anyone know what is the best way to clean the grout without ruining it?

Thanks for your help.

Soft scrub with bleach in it. It comes in a squirt bottle so you can control where it goes. Just squirt, sponge it around and leave it sit for a bit, then rinse. It does a great job on my white grout in the kitchen. .
If your grout is colored, (mine is the same color as my tile on the bathroom floor) I would NOT use anything with bleach. Try Home Depot for that and see if they have a special cleaner.

Good Luck

You can use pine sol. Any type of cleaner would do the work. Are you talking about mold? well bleach would help kill it. If your in to cleaning with natural products, vinegar or peroxide will work, but it will come back. Your not going to ruin the grout by cleaning it.

Well, if its a dark colored grout, then stay away from the bleach....otherwise if its lighter colored (or you're aiming for white color) then use one of those Clorox Bleach pens.

There are grout cleaning kits available in stores or off eBay.

I've always used neat bleach painted on literally with a paintbrush. Leave over night and then wash off - bright white grout!! But make sure you have air when you are doing it - cos it stinks!!

If you ever heard of fabuloso, it's a purple or blue cleaner that you typically get at grocery stores, you mix that with warm water as you would with ammonia and then you just wipe it up with a rag.
