You know what I’m talking about. It has been in your collection for years. It might not get played for months at a time but when you do pull it out it is, “Wow! Why haven’t I been listening to this more?!?”

For me it has to be Myles Davis “Kind of Blue”.

Not naming names, but I see a lot of answers with more than one album. Gotta keep it to one, so my answer will be predictable as hell.

NIN - The Downward Spiral - There is something to be said for someone being more miserable than you can ever imagine that can always make you feel a whole lot better. At least I'm not THAT guy. Trent was at his best when making music about the human condition. And every song on it is great, no skip-over tracks.

The Velvet Underground Live at Max's Kansas City. I generally don't care for "live" albums, but this is really cool because it was recorded with a tape player at someone's table at the club. Another album that was my VERY FAVORITE album for years and years and years that I sometimes play very loudly when I am home by myself is The Rise & Fall of Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars by David Bowie. Back in the long ago day I used to listen to the record several times a day, everyday for YEARS!!!
Another record that sometimes makes an appearance on grey winter days, when my husband & I are inside working on little projects that we don't get around to unless we're stuck inside is The Court of the Crimson King

That would have to be ... The London Symphony Orchestra Plays The Music of Jethro Tull featuring Ian Anderson.

Nothing like hearing Too Old To Rock n' Roll Too Young to Die done in a symphony orchestra.

Oh well that's easy! It has to be (drum roll) The Final Cut by Pink Floyd. The music and the lyrics on that album say more about WWII than any other song or movie ever could. WOW! It is a very intense album.

Godsmack's self titled album from about 10 years ago.
Moon Baby, I melt every time I hear "my soul mate lives in your body". Well in my chick flick moments.
The whole album is raw and heavy. After a hard day's work, I need to lose the tension and this does it for me. Being nice and giving a crap all day calls for metal and cussing and screaming. No one does it like Sully.
Grim Jack who knew you were so soulful?

Smashing Pumpkins - "Siamese Dream." Seriously. This is an album I can listen to for weeks and weeks on end and never ever get tired of. Then I forget about it for a while, pull it out and repeat the whole cycle.

Love that album (Kind of Blue), but I have to be in the mood to listen to it.

The one I always end up grabbing is Kiss' Rock And Roll Over. It may be because it was the first album I ever owned, but I still love every song on it.

EDIT
Deke - You're right about Amorica. I hear something new there everytime I listen to it. Highly under appreciated.

I'll go through a Beatle phase and listen to Revolver every couple of months. Also Ritual de lo habitual, by Janes addiction I seem to get into once a year.
