From the east, you'll hit The Rocky Mountains in either Montana, Wyoming, Colorado or New Mexico. Continuing west you might run through other Rocky Mountain states: Idaho, Utah, Arizona and eastern Nevada.

The Rocky Mountains stretch more than 3,000 miles from northernmost British Columbia, in Canada, to New Mexico, in the United States.

So depending how far north or south you are in the U.S.--- any of these states: Colorado, New Mexico, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, and just a very tiny bit in the north eastern corner section of Utah.
