My husband and I had sex Aug, 20th, 3 days before my period. 3 days later, which was Aug 23, no sign of my period. (I have a 28 day cycle that has been on time).Could I be pregnant? I've been feeling bloated, my urine is dark yellow, I'm eating more, sleeping more, vaginal discharge with pink spotting,cramps,no sore breast or nausea,I'm not on any medications,exercising or over/under weight. I did have one stress day the day before my period, but that wouldn't make it 15 days late.(as of today)When I went to the doctor on yesterday the test came back negative. Why is my period 15 days late and could I have gotten pregnant 3 days before my period? Could my hCG level be too low?

Yes you could still get pregnant.

Menstruation usually stops when a woman is pregnant. However, in some cases, a woman might have a period with less blood or that lasts fewer days than usual and still be pregnant. Your confusion is understandable because these signs can lead women to believe they are not pregnant. However, various kinds of bleeding can occur in early pregnancy. Women can get some spotting in their first trimester:

* when the fertilized egg implants in the uterus;
* if the pregnancy is abnormal in any way [i.e., ectopic pregnancy (implantation outside of the uterus, such as in a fallopian tube), a threatening miscarriage]; or,
* from bleeding as part of their menstrual cycle (this is extremely rare).

Yes you can get pregnant during that time....in fact for a lot of women- that is prime ovulation time. However, the more you stress out about it (which is really hard to stop stressing, I know) you will delay your period. Have you changed your diet at all during the last month? Been overly stressed? This has happened twice to me- where I just freak out- and literally my period can be like 2-3 weeks late- all from stress. The very FIRST sign of pregnancy - sore breasts- for more than a few days- hard to tell the difference between PMS and pregnancy. You will start to feel slow in the mind and overly tired as well. Just try and relax- and wait a few more weeks and test again. When i was prego- I knew it right away- I could just feel it- BUT the blood test at the Doc's came back negative....so just hang tight.

If you spontanously ovulated, you could have gotten preg then. Most women do not get preg 3 days before their period. My guess is that you are stressed. Unless of course you were already preg when you had sex say from a few weeks before????
