I recently received a note from the dealership about my upcoming 75k inspection that needed to be done. Now what all entails with it and why does the dealer only inspect and not replace items and youll have to come out of pocket for?I believe the Hyundai dealer charges $175-$200 for it.Why look and not touch?

Sunshine, You can get an exact idea of what to "expect'' at their purposed 75,000 mile (inspection) by opening the service manual in your glove box.
This is "Hyundai - Robery" waiting to happen. All you have to do is research the recommendrd servicies @ 75 K and select the ones to do. They can't charge you to inspect a rash of items hoping to scare you into paying their outlandish prices for things that do not need repair.
This is pure BS. If they value coustomers in their business the checks should be free. Any independant mechanic could go through the list and prepare you for needed survices.

This is typical of off-shore owned car companies waiting in the weeds for a killing.

tha is just regular maintenance. They will check items listed in your maintenance schedule in your owners manual. they will check things like fluids, belt condition, brake condition, etc. etc. If no one has looked at your car, its usually a sale deal to get buisiness, but sometimes worth it if you never look at it. if someone has done all of that recently, don't bother with it. It is not the same as a state inspection. Good luck!
