A company speacilizing in wall finishes and interior design,intrested on styrofoam petitions,Hence the question how to apply polyurathene on styrofoam walls?.

Use a water based polyurethane with a hvlp sprayer. The water base won't alter the molecular structure of the Styrofoam, whereas the oil base polyurethane will dissolve it. This also applies to adhesives as well.

After testing the Poly to make sure it does not damage the material, I would use an HVLP sprayer.

Not sure what country you are trying this in, but I doubt if it would pass fire codes here in the US.
