yes they horse apples or hedge apples repel spiders to roaches and much more cut them in half and place them into a open container place them in corners of your home,basement and utility room it should deffer all bugs away including the spiders

I have used them in my house and I believe that they work. Apparently there is no "scientific" evidence that this is true, but they did seem to get rid of the spiders in my house. By the way, Hedge Apples, Horse Apples, and Osage Oranges are all the same thing. Must just be known by different names n different parts of the country.

I have not used for spiders but they do a fine job on repelling and getting rid of roaches. When I placed the hedge apples in the basement, the roachs went South. Take care with these things. If you forget about them, they rot and really stink.

if by Hedge Apples you mean "horse" apples then yes we have attempted to use them for spider repellent and had no luck

I don't mind the occasional spider in my house so I've never tried them indoors. In Virginia I had an Osage Orange with a garden spider unfazed by it's falling fruit. RScott

No, but I have used Osage Oranges with success. They need to be placed on something like aluminum foil because they disintegrate after a while.
