Dave Ritchie "scored" first. Oddly enough he also was the first NHL player to get an STD.....HA HA HA...

Man, thats one well hidden tidbit of information. Hockey hall of fame doesn't have it on their website, neither does NHL.com. nor Wikipedia. I'll take suspendedagain 300 's word for it. I know his link provides the right date and teams, so Dave Ritchie is probably correct too.

Bob............I'm not that old!

However, I was born before Maurice Richard scored 50 goals in a season..............not that I was old enough to remember it!

Oh, and the first game I was at, the Brooklyn Americans beat the Montreal Canadiens..........in Montreal

It was me! I scored in the first period of the first game at the 12 minute mark. Short-handed and unassisted. 5 hole.
