Why not let the state make businesses that the prisoners would work, drycleaing, assembly or whatever, services to the outer world, worked IN the prison-this will solve a couple problems-
1-they will be paid real wages, and a portion will be kept out automatically for thier room board food whatever
2-they will learn a skill and responsibility
3-another portion will come out for thier CHILD support, freeing the state from having to take care of all the prisoners kids on the outside
4-We dont have to pay for the upkeep of criminals since that will be deducted from thier pay
5-What do YOU think?

Ok involuntary servitude is slavery, this would not be slavery but work for pay, and in case you dont know as it stands all prisoners are required to either work or go to school-while working they make REAL slave wages, less than a dollar per hour, and besides taxpayers working dollars are INVOLUNtarily supporting these criminals. And the jobs would be IN the prison not outside it, as I stated above. So there would be truckers to come gather the finished products -whatever that may be,
