I failed mine too! I have to go back next week for the 3hr test. I think it's something like 1 in 3 that retest will have gestational diabetes. Your score wasn't that high anyway, mine was 138...and the nurse seemed confident that I would pass the 3hr...we'll see. I don't know how I am going to deal with the amount of food in the diet because I have really bad indigestion now. I am actually going to try and eat a worse, obviously without harming my baby, diet as possible because I don't want to somehow mask a potential gestational diabetes diagnosis by eating really well and exercising. Anyway, good luck!

I failed my 1 hour test too. I did some study and it sounds as if it may be very traditional to fail it the primary time and not to worry. While you go to take the 3 hour experiment you're going to be verified 4x. Via finger prick. If the results come back above common variety 2 or more times then you've got gestational diabetesResults of three hour glucose tolerance experiment Gestational diabetes might be diagnosed if two of the next values are exceed the traditional restrict. Fasting - ninety five mg/dL 1 hour - a hundred and eighty mg/dL 2 hours - one hundred fifty five mg/dL three hours - 140 mg/dL. When you do have it then your doctor will go over your weight loss plan and notice the place that you can make adjustments. Very hardly ever do you need insulin or some thing so no issues its all about eating healthy and light exercise. Just right good fortune hope the whole lot turns out exceptional and that you could hold all these yummy cravings.

Mine was about the same (142) for the 1 hour, and I passed the 3 hour. 142 isn't really that high, they are just extremely cautious about it. More than likely, it was something you ate, and you will be fine for the 3 hour. Just watch the simple carbs (bleached sugar, white flour, etc) the day before the test. I failed the 1 hour because I ate a yogurt shortly before the test (loaded with sugar) and I'm convinced that is why I failed. I did, however, get pretty sick shortly after drinking the glucose and almost passed out (couldn't see, got really shaky and sweaty, nauseous, was aware of things going on but couldn't do much about it lol). Mine is not the norm, most people do fine with it. Just stay seated, I did too much walking around because I was bored. Bring a book or something to keep you occupied. Try not to stress, and good luck!

Well I failed my first one I think it was 163 but the day before I had some birthday cake and ice cream so I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. But when I did my 3 hour glucose it came back normal. The 3 hour is not too bad I didn't like it that I had to fast for it and I did feel a little sick but overall it wasn't that bad.

With my first son I had also failed the 1 hour. For the 3 hour, they had me fast, from Midnight until 1 pm(my test was at 10 I believe). And I past that one. I think I failed the 1 hour because I had had a tea light and sweet and a bagel with cream cheese(dunkin donuts run)..... You probally wont get ill or pass out.... If anything, while waiting in the lab you can watch tv and read magazines, just relax and it will be fine.
Best wishes to you hun!

I failed my 1 hour test with my last two pregnancies, but ending up passing the 3 hour one. The three hour one is hard, it made me so sick to my stomach make sure you have someone to drive you home, don't go by yourself. My doctor told me that a lot of people fail the first one only to pass the second one, so I wouldn't worry too much. And if you some reason you don't pass it, just remember that it is managable and you are only doing what is best for your baby! Good luck!

Don't worry too much! You don't seem too far off with the one hour test. My levels after the one hour came back 541 so I didn't even get the 3 hour test- I went straight to the hospital! LoL So don't feel bad! I bet everything will be fine! Just don't eat anything before the test and hope for the best!

I failed the 1 hour with both of my pregnancies and passed the 3 hour!! I guess it just depends on the person!!
My suggestion is take some crackers with you, so you can eat them as soon as the test is over and then go eat a good lunch, you will deserve it!!!

It could be that you may of had too much sugar that day so make sure you are fasting and try not to cheat LOL....it is very important for them to find out if you have gestational diabetes. I had it when i was pregnant with my first child, you have to be very careful with what you eat, the baby may get too big and can be a still born, so just take the 3 hour test to be safe, even though it taste terrible its for your babys own good ....

mine was even higher, but I passed the 3 hr. The 3 hr is rough for the first hour or so, you can feel your sugar spike and then crash, but as long as you are not diabetic then your body will be able to equalize and you will feel ok (but extremely hungry!!) after ther 3 hrs are up. good luck
