"I personally believe the US Americans are unable to do so because some people out there in our nation don't have maps, and, uh, I believe that our education, like such as South Africa and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere like, such as -- and I believe that they should. Our education over here in the US should help the US -- should help South Africa and should help the Iraq, and the Asian countries, so we will be able to build up our future for our children."

I'm sure if they showed world maps on television then Americans would have no problem locating the US. This country watches way too much television and our schools are too busy parenting children then teaching thus compounding the problem for future generations. I think it's disgusting that the wealthiest country in the world is becoming the stupidest. And not only don't we read we don't vote either unless it's for the American Idol.

We don't focus on education as much as we should. And its also the mentality of students in middle and high school. They don't want to be there, don't want to learn, and their parents don't make them do their homework.
Or they are too busy with 'extracurricular activities' at school, and less focused on the actual work.
School seemed more like a social gathering rather than a place to learn. With the exception of the advanced placement classes I took.
Not to mention we have many uneducated adults here in the US from other places.
It's a shame when people don't even know the most basic information.

because they don't have maps in China, the children in Ethiopia are still starving, and there is now lead in the toys made in Asia. Did I forget anything?
