Whether or not they're in love, they should have the same rights as everyone else.
Do you think all HETERO marriages are even for love? Not really--half of the time a couple gets married because one knocked up the other and getting married becomes 'the right thing to do.'
I think when gay marriage is finally a reality nationwide, we will see that in fact they treat marriage better (meaning that more marriages will be for love, and the divorce rate will be lower) than heterosexuals have been treating it historically (in the US). I mean, at least you know that the above 'marriage condition' can't possibly happen to a pair of guys or girls, right? Just taking out that one variable would make the divorce rate significantly lower among same-sex couples, even if they're exactly the same as hetero couples in every other way. Think about it.

I think that we gays should have more political allies who will create new laws that will guarantee us equal rights. We already "have" some such laws, but we obviously need many more.
But we are also obtaining changes in some laws by way of the judicial branch of both the federal government (Romer v. Evans and Lawrence v. Texas) and certain state governments (Goodridge v. Dept. of Public Health, in Mass.) and I am firmly convinced that these courts are wrong, wrong, wrong. These judges have not interpreted the law correctly.

Love is a very precious thing and should be recognised for what it is rather than for what it is not. Heterosexuals get married and divorced for lust and for falling out of it, for being with child etc.... and when we want to marry -- for Love mostly, it's turned down flat by the almighty Church and State as being a deviancy. Love being deviant. Imagine. I know couples how have been together for years who have no insurance together (well one might but not the other) but who still Love the other.
Gay couples should certainly have their rights in the name of Love.

I think that rights should be EQUAL everyone should have the exact same rights.
Any two people should be allowed to marry.
Any qualified PERSON should be allowed to adopt a child.
NO ONE should be allowed to infringe on the rights of others.
It really should not matter if you or I agree with another persons race, sexuality, gender - that person should be granted their rights.
No one sector should have have special rights, but no one sector should be disqualifed from rights.

I think that all people should have the same rights. Gay people are currently denied rights, this has to change.
