The correct spelling is "Chromosome."

Every cell has the same number of chromosomes. In fact, every cell has the exact same DNA. The only difference is which genes (gene is a section of DNA that does a specific job) are turned on and which are turned off.

Every human being has 23 pairs of chromosomes. Each pair has two members (obviously, that's what makes a pair) and each member is identical to the other member of the pair.

No two people have the same number of cells. Even identical twins have different numbers of cells.

HOWEVER.

Both men and women have the same number of chromosomes. They do not have identical chromosomes - there is what's called the sex chromosome, that comes in two varieties: X and Y.

Women have two X chromsomes in that pair (it's considered the 23rd pair). Men have an X and a Y.

Men, therefore, have less DNA than women, because the Y chromosome is smaller.
