Is there a method to picking locks without wasting the lock picks? For example with the locks that range from average to very hard?

You can go searching around the country side searching for the unbreakable lockpick. Or you can also make spells that allow you to unlock doors. If you are a really strong mage then you should be able to make a 'unlock door' spell. Just go and buy a unlock door spell, then go to a spellmaking podium and raise the spell so that it can open master locks.

Yeah there is a special dedaric quest where you can get a lock pick that never breaks!! Its near the bottom right of the map if i remember correctly. It is a very nice thing to only need 1 lock pick ; )
